Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships
Applications are now being accepted for the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholars Program for 2002 - 2003. These scholarships provide up to US$25,000 for graduate studies abroad. Interviews will be held in June 2001.
Scholarships are competitively awarded based on academic excellence, the applicant's ability to function as a civilian ambassador, and the suitability of the proposed area of study for promoting the goals of Rotary.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)
The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) is funded by the Department of Education, Science & Training and is available to international students commencing a research degree program at Macquarie University in 2003. The scholarship is highly competitive and will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and research capacity. The scholarship aims to attract top quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in higher education institutions and to support Australia's research effort.

Super innovation scholarships
These scholarships will be offered to all commencing students with a UAI of 100 who have listed Macquarie as their first preference. The scholarships are valued at $2500 for each year of the student's program of study, subject to satisfactory progress.

Innovation scholarships
Each year 30 of these scholarships, each valued at $2500, are available for students who apply for the first time for a place at Macquarie through UAC. A scholarship will be offered to all students with a UAI above 99.5 who have listed Macquarie as their first preference. The remainder will be distributed evenly across all undergraduate programs offered by Macquarie on the sole basis of academic merit to students with a UAI of 95 and above. The scholarship is for the first year of a student's program of study only.

Merit-based equity scholarships
These scholarships are offered to encourage participation of members of equity groups in higher education. The scholarships are given to students who belong to one of the following equity groups:

Sports scholarships
The Sports Association awards up to 12 Sports Scholarships valued at $2500 each. The scholarships are available to Year 12 students who accept an offer of enrolment at Macquarie and current Macquarie students who have represented the University in sport. The Sports Scholarships are awarded on both academic and sporting achievements at school or university, and are given to those with a commitment to representing Macquarie in their chosen sport. His interests are primarily in the area of English language, and he teaches a unit in lexicography at senior level. He is currently the Director of the Dictionary Research Centr e, and he has been associated with the Macquarie Dictionary since its inception. Editor of the Pocket Macquarie and Macquarie Junior dictionaries, he has also authored or edited several textbooks in linguistics. He is currently Vice-President of AUSTRALEX (the Australasian Association for Lexicography). His other research interests include the pronunciation of placenames and the question of dialect differences within Australia.

She also has a strong interest in twentieth-century drama generally.

Her principal research interests are post-colonial women's writing, African fiction in English, and African theatre. She is the School's Director of Undergraduate Studies and its representative on the Undergraduate Studies committee of Senate.

His research centres on Renaissance literature and cultural history, and his publications include The Political Identity of And rew Marvell; The Catholic Religious Poets from Southwell to Crashaw: a Critical History; and More's Utopia and Utopian Inheritance.

Her research interests are in post-colonial literature and theory, the literature of diasporic communities, and the theory and practice of creative writing. Her publications include a volume of poetry, Monkey's Wedding (1995), selected poetry in a range of literary journals, and articles on the South African writer, J. M. Coetzee, contemporary Australian women writers, and Australian Jewish writing.
