-Entrance Requirements:
One of the following: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0); RMIT CELL - Advanced Level.
The Master of E-Business primarily has a business focus and all applicants applying for entry must have:

-a minimum of 3-5 years relevant business experience;
-a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline, or another award deemed by RMIT to be its equivalent;
high level communication skills, well developed computing and Internet skills.

Program Description
This program is the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region and was developed in direct response to an expressed need by industry. Leading experts and e-commerce professionals have assisted in the design of this innovative program that captures the present and future direction of digital business.

The program tackles the business of electronic commerce, rather than concentrating on the technology alone with courses (subjects) delving into the areas of marketing, law, logistics, management and economic.

Teaching Methods
Classes are taught in a combination of lecture / seminar, tutorial, workshop, practical and laboratory sessions.

Assessment
Assessment is ongoing throughout the semester and may include examinations, essay / reports, oral class presentations, group projects, research projects, laboratory projects and practical assignments.

Mode and Duration
Please Note: part-time study is not available to International Students.

The program is offered on a full-time and part-time basis. The duration of the program is three semesters (18 months) full-time or six semesters (three years) part-time. Program delivery is flexible and courses (subjects) are offered in a variety of modes ranging from seminars, wor kshops and weekly classes, using face to face and on-line mediums.

Career Prospects
With overall IT industry vacancies running at around 30,000, according to the federal government Department of Communications, IT and the Arts (DOCITA), the need for business people skilled in the various aspects of E-Commerce/E-Business (both technical and business-related) is urgent. There is evidence to suggest that the E-Business jobs marketplace has grown significantly and become more sophisticated over the past year. Graduates can expect to move into roles in the following areas: strategy and planning; chief knowledge officer; web director; internet systems designer; risk management consultant; marketing manager; and senior sales executive.

Staff
Academic experts from throughout RMIT Business, specialising in the full range of E-Business disciplines, will teach the programs. Their experience and industry contacts will ensure the the subject material in the Master of E-Business continues to reflect only the latest academcic and industry practices and theories.

Program Structure
The Master of E-Business is a multi-disciplinary program with courses (subjects) offered by all Schools within the Faculty of Business. The program consists of eight core courses (subjects), three electives and a research project.

Students also have the option of taking a larger research component by substituting the three electives for a research methods courses (subjects) and a minor thesis. This can be discussed in more detail with the Program Co-ordinator.
